John McLaughlin is a musician of superlatives on tour in Europe. Rolling Stone not only listed McLaughlin as one of the 100 best guitarists of all time, he also won a Grammy in 2018 and was voted seven times jazz guitarist of the year by Down Beat, the world’s most widely circulated jazz magazine.

John Mc Laughlin’s band project ‘The 4th Dimension’ unites musicians from different cultures and musical traditions to form an all-star band. The music of this group uniquely integrates all these cultural influences while retaining the spontaneity of jazz. Gary Husband switches from keyboard to drums with amazing smoothness and has worked with many well-known musicians such as Jeff Beck and Gary Moore. Nicolas Viccaro has been an active drummer worldwide for years. He has worked with greats such as Dave Stewart (Eurythmics), Hans Zimmer, Richard Bona and Dhafer Youssef. Étienne M’Bappé is one of the world’s best bass players today. He has performed with Ray Charles, Salif Keita, Joe Zawinul and many others.

McLaughlin has virtually worked with all the international jazz greats, but one thing has always guided him: Respect and openness towards other directions, forms of expression and cultures – this attitude is incredibly congenial to Kulturzelt and connects us in the best possible way – Open for Diversity!
