Yael Shoshana Cohen and Gil Landau, who have been performing together as Lola Marsh since 2013 are bringing their excellent brand of indie-pop with them from Tel Aviv to us here in Kassel.
The duo’s music conveys the feeling of an eventful summer, of long days and warm nights, all the way through until the cold nights of autumn come knocking at your door — Lola Marsh portrays it all. That summer feeling in all its variety!
Yael S. Cohens voice with its retro-charm is enchanting and mixed with Gil Landaus instrumental sensitivity, evokes an intense melancholy reminiscent of Lana Del Rey.
On the new album “Someday Tomorrow Maybe” there are songs like “echo” that make us smile, “only for a moment” which has a beat that we want to shake our bootie to and “strangers on the subway” to which we want to lie on grass somewhere and take a moment to relax.
It will be an evening full of dance that will be both effortless, and deep at the same time.
Much like on their new album cover, a picture of the duo glancing out of small airplane windows, Lola Marsh is rising fast and high and thanks to their music we are already on cloud nine.
