An evening with Das Lumpenpack (“The Riff-Raff”) is like going to a stand up comedy show, poetry slam and concert all at once. The lyrics by Jonas Froemming and Max Kennel are creative and full of jokes that are both banal and funny at the same time. Although they are joking around, their music, which is a mixture of German rap with rock beats and satirical pop, does not lose its quality. The new and fifth studio album “emotions“ was released in 2021 and brought some cheer into the pandemic’s dullness. In “WZF?” (aka. WTF?) they address what has happened over the past two years referencing everything from Dolce Wohnen to Amazon Prime. This time around they are more political and critical, but as humorous as ever. Jonas and Max are now accompanied by Lola Schrade on bass, Alex Eckert on drums and Jason Bartsch on guitar & synthesizer. The three of them bring out the last missing element and the team is now ready to bring a show to Kulturezeit that you won’t want to miss.
