Nostalgisch aber unbeschwert wecken sie mit ihrem Indie-Folk in uns stets Erinnerungen an den Sommer. Man könnte auch sagen, sie sind Vitamin D für unsere Ohren. Der Mix aus Klavier, Gitarre, Banjo, Schlagzeug und manchmal auch Mundharmonika, wirkt immer leicht aber trotzdem sehr präzise arrangiert.
Ihre neue Single Undone ist eine wunderschöne Ballade, die mit souligen Vocals zum Schunkeln einlädt. Fool me verzaubert uns mit Country Charme und lässt uns an eine Kneipe denken, in der sich spontan jemand ans Klavier setzt und in die Tasten haut, während ein anderer mit der Gitarre einsteigt — am Ende tanzen alle gemeinsam auf dem knarzenden Holzparkett. Wir sind zwar keine Kneipe, aber ganz gewiss werden bei diesem Konzert am Ende auch alle gemeinsam tanzen, spätestens wenn die Band ihren Song Millionaire spielt. Bei Spotify und Youtube explodieren die Clicks und Likes bereits millionenfach. Und obwohl wir selbst keine Millionäre sind, sind wir allemal

Nic Johnston, Dan Wallage and Jack Rollins travelled from Australia to Kassel to perform for us as „Sons of the East“. With their nostalgic but light-hearted indie-folk music they evoke memories of summer in us.

One might say they are vitamin D for our ears. The combination of piano, guitar, banjo, drums and mouth organ feels light but is arranged with precision. Their new single „undone“ is a wonderful ballad with soul vocals, inviting us to sway. „Fool me“ enchants us with country charm and makes us think of a pub in which someone spontaneously sits down at a piano whilst another joins with a guitar — and in the end everyone dances together on creaky wooden floors. We are no pub but we are certain that at this concert everybody will join in dancing as well, at the latest when the band plays their song „millionaire“. On platforms like Spotify and Youtube they already get millions of clicks and likes. And even though we aren’t millionaires ourselves, we are, to say the least, enriched when we hear Sons of the East playing for us

Amistat: The identical twins Josef and Jan Prasil from Rosenheim spent eight years on the musical road in Australia, their father’s homeland, and returned to Germany in 2020. In their luggage: the much-played guitar, sadly beautiful songs and a pinch of nonchalance. Amistat, by the way, is Catalan for friendship, and you can tell that they are not only connected by family, but also by friendship.
