Art, when it is good, creates noise in the routine of our world. Without disruption of our self-certainties, as we should have known since antiquity, we are doomed – here we go!
Stefanie Sargnagel has not learned this lesson from a textbook – which would be a rather desperate endeavour anyway – but from practising her art. She finds her expression, used in sometimes vicious cartoons and her literary texts, through the offsides of this hyper-capitalist world.
In Dicht, beer drinking takes on a whole new utopian, cheerful to melancholic setting. Stefanie Sargnagel was invited by us to read in the tent. She gladly agreed, on the condition of bringing the band Euroteuro on stage with her. All right. If it has to be, it has to be.
